People have thought for some time that the main people that used Facebook or My Space were generally young, or under 25 at least. It is true that there are plenty of people this age and younger that do use the site for socializing with both old and new friends. Because it was thought that it was only these ages that used these sites, there wasn't any rush by companies that wanted to advertise to other aged people.
